Principle of Water Bath Retort Sterilizer
The principle of the water bath retort sterilizer is relatively simple: it uses high-temperature, high-pressure water to submerge packaged products in water, thereby achieving sterilization. This method is commonly used in large-scale food production lines and is also applicable to specific sterilization scenarios in the medical industry.

Key Selling Point 1:
According to Chinese national standards, the sterilizer tank body must have a thickness of 3.8 mm, with a design life of 5 years. However, our tanks have a base design life of 10 years, with a thickness of 5 mm. The wall thickness directly affects the equipment's service life and is a major cost factor, demonstrating our commitment to quality and refusal to compromise on price.
Key Selling Point 2:
The design and layout of piping are highly technical tasks. Our company adheres to the principle of unique piping functions, meaning one pipe is responsible for only one function. More pipes mean more valves, allowing precise control of temperature and pressure. If a pipe fails, we can use other pipes for temporary compensation to prevent production shutdowns. Low-end products typically reduce the number of pipes to cut costs.
Key Selling Point 3:
Our company consistently uses Siemens PLC equipment. The system is self-developed, highly stable, and capable of presetting 100 sterilization methods. It is easy to operate and highly efficient.
Key Selling Point 4:
We will discuss the selection of accessories in detail with customers. Valves and pumps are two critical components in sterilizer equipment. The price difference between low-end and high-end valves can reach hundreds of dollars, and a sterilizer may have over a dozen valves. High-quality valves offer longer service life and more precise control of temperature and pressure. For pumps, major brands provide better stability and longevity. The image shows valves and pumps manufactured in Japan.
Key Selling Point 5:
For some smaller models of sterilizers, we recommend offering versions with both electric and steam heating functions. Since using electricity to heat water consumes a significant amount of energy, having both functions allows the use of boiler-generated steam for auxiliary heating when extended sterilization time is needed, helping to reduce costs.

Process Flow – How It Works:
1,Pre-heating water transfer – Based on the preset sterilization temperature, the upper tank releases pre-heated water into the lower sterilization vessel.
2,Spray circulation begins – Once the water reaches the specified level, the circulation pump activates. High-temperature water passes through a heat exchanger and sprays evenly over the products.
3,Steam-assisted reheating – Steam is injected into the other side of the heat exchanger, reheating the circulating water to the exact target temperature.
4,Precise temperature control – The system automatically regulates steam flow using a motorized control valve, ensuring stable temperatures throughout the process.
5,Cooling phase starts – After sterilization is complete, steam injection stops, and a cold water valve opens to introduce cooling water.
6,Gradual cooling prevents breakage – Incoming cold water passes through the heat exchanger, gradually lowering the product temperature to prevent “bottle bursting” due to thermal shock.
7,Multiple spray configurations available – Depending on spray positioning, our sterilizers support top-spraying, side-spraying, and full-spraying types to match different product shapes and packaging.
Product Introduction for Qingdao Haimo Industry and Trade Co.,ltd
Water Bath Retort Sterilizer – Engineered for Precision, Built for Longevity
Our water bath retort sterilizer uses high-temperature, high-pressure water immersion to deliver thorough and reliable sterilization for packaged products. Widely adopted in large-scale food production lines and specialized medical applications, this system provides consistent results with exceptional efficiency.
We manufacture our tanks with a 5 mm wall thickness—well above the Chinese national standard of 3.8 mm—giving them a design life of 10 years instead of the typical 5 years. This thickness directly enhances durability and represents our uncompromising commitment to quality over cost-cutting.
Our piping system follows a unique function-per-pipe design. Each pipe handles a single task, enabling more precise temperature and pressure control through dedicated valves. In the unlikely event of a failure, alternative pipes can temporarily compensate, preventing costly production stoppages.
We integrate Siemens PLC controllers with proprietary software, offering stability, ease of use, and up to 100 preset sterilization programs.
Valves and pumps are critical to performance. We work closely with customers to select high-quality components—often Japanese-made as shown—because better valves deliver finer control and longer life, and premium pumps ensure stability and reliability.
For smaller sterilizer models, we offer dual electric and steam heating. While electric heating is energy-intensive, combining it with steam (e.g., from a boiler) during extended cycles significantly lowers operating costs.
